Colloque du projet ERC-Synergy MiDRASH
Au Moyen Âge, des manuscrits hébraïques furent produits à travers la vaste diaspora juive, depuis la France et le Portugal à l’ouest jusqu’aux confins de la Chine à l’est, de l’Angleterre au nord jusqu’au Yémen au sud. Chaque culture possédait ses propres traditions de fabrication de livres et ses modèles d’écriture. Cependant, ces différents centres, souvent éloignés, n’étaient pas isolés. Les textes, les livres et les idées circulaient le long des routes commerciales ou des chemins de l’exil.
Le colloque explore l’impact de la mobilité géographique sur la transmission et le développement des écritures hébraïques. Le terme “mobilité” ou “migration” est défini de manière large. Il concerne l’influence des déplacements pour l’apprentissage ou le commerce sur la circulation des modèles d’écriture hébraïque, suit des scribes qui, pour diverses raisons, ont quitté leur lieu d’origine pour exercer leur art dans un nouvel environnement, et s’intéresse aux réseaux de scribes à travers l’espace. La “mobilité” et la “migration” sont envisagées comme un cadre méthodologique pour comprendre la transformation de l’écriture hébraïque dans une perspective de longue durée. Le phénomène de mobilité des scribes, des modèles et des écritures est étudié à travers les méthodologies les plus récentes, qu’elles soient traditionnelles, numériques ou basées sur l’intelligence artificielle, dans la recherche paléographique hébraïque.
